Sayani is currently a Ph.D. research scholar at School of Oceanographic Studies, Jadavpur University. She is doing Ph.D. on elephant corridor mapping of West Bengal, India under the supervision of Dr. Rahi Soren. She had been awarded for an equipment grant from first Indian Conservation Conference (ICCON) 2023. In addition, she had trained the field collaborators of the project ‘Oral Histories of Climate Change’ on mapping session, organized by University of Newcastle upon Tyne; Archives@NCBS; Center for Public History, Srishti-Manipal Institute in 2023. Also, Sayani worked as Volunteer in project of DRCSC entitled “Enhancing Adaptive Capacity of Small & Marginal Farmers of Purulia & Bankura District, West Bengal to Climate Change” in 2021. During her M.Phil., she had worked on ‘Community Perception of Ecosystem Services Provided by Water Birds with Changing Landscape of East Kolkata Wetland, West Bengal’. She had also published her M.Phil. work with Dr. Soren as a book chapter. She had secured first place for poster presentation entitled ‘El-Nino Event: Out-turn of Atmosphere- Ocean Interactivity’ in one day international webinar of 2020 at Seth Anandram Jaipuria College, Kolkata, India. She was qualified UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) in Geography for JRF & Assistant Professor in 2020. Apart from that, she had completed her Post graduate diploma course in Remote Sensing and GIS from Jadavpur University and masters in Geography from Rabindra Bharati University. She was worked as GIS Digitizer at GSI- Geospace Infotech in 2018. She has knowledge on ARCGIS, QGIS and ERDAS IMAGINE software for mapping.
